This project aims to create introspection through imagery. Memory, identity and melancholy are key words for this body of work, which is exploring memory in relation to loss and nostalgia within family.
Family photo albums help to construct an individual and collective identity through the references created by the images and the oral narrative that accompanies them.
By interweaving archival photos with own work, past and present reality is blended together with juxtapositions with nature to create a fragmented and disconnected expression, seeking to create a theme of confusion and contemplation as well as bridging the melancholy with photography.
The narrative is open for the readers to create a remembrance of their own through the images and text.
